BOX OFFICE PREDICTIONS FOR THE WEEKEND OF MARCH 26-28
This weekend two new releases hit theatres. Dreamworks 3-D animated adventure film How to Train Your Dragon swoops into theatres and will easily conquer reigning box office champion Alice in Wonderland. The other new release is raunchy comedy Hot Tub Time Machine which should have a solid second place opening. Take a look.

Here’s a look at my portfolio from the Cantor Exchange during the practice period which just ended. Due to compliance reasons I won’t go into here, Cantor Exchange will be closed until April 22nd when real trading begins. That’s right, one month from now you will be able to trade movie futures contracts for real with real money. I can’t tell you how excited I am about this. Remember, your friendly neighborhood box office analyst is always here at FilmGo offering trading tips, so come back often for all of my box office predictions. Trading during the practice period was incredibly fun and I did really well. Over the six months that I traded I was up 150%. I turned $10,000 virtual dollars into $25,000 virtual dollars. Here’s a look at the positions I held when the Exchange stopped trading and my gain/loss history from October 1st 2009 when I began.

BOX OFFICE RESULTS FOR THE WEEKEND OF MARCH 19-21
Alice in Wonderland once again dominated the weekend box office but the Mad Hatter and friends will have to give up the throne this weekend when Dreamworks unleashes How to Train Your DragonDiary of a Wimpy Kid opened much stronger than I expected in second place.   Romantic action comedy The Bounty Hunter had a solid debut in third place while sci-fi flick Repo Men opened poorly in fourth place. Take a look.

BOX OFFICE PREDICTIONS FOR THE WEEKEND OF MARCH 19-21
This weekend three new films will challenge Alice in Wonderland for the box office throne and will fail in the attempt. Romantic action comedy The Bounty Hunter starring Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler has the most box office potential out of the new releases. Adapted from the best-selling book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid should do some decent business while sci-fi action flick Repo Men is set to crash and burn. Take a look.

BOX OFFICE RESULTS FOR THE WEEKEND OF MARCH 12-14
Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland continued to dominate the box office this weekend despite four new films entering the marketplace. In fact, Wonderland made more money on Friday ($17.3M) than the new releases made over the entire weekend. Green Zone proved once again that audiences do not want to pay to see films about Iraq. She’s Out of My League proved that star Jay Baruchel is no Jason Segel. Remember Me proved that Robert Pattinson will not be remembered after The Twilight Saga is over and done with and finally Our Family Wedding proved that urban comedies only make money when Tyler Perry’s name appears in the credits. Take a look.

BOX OFFICE PREDICTIONS FOR THE WEEKEND OF MARCH 12-14
Four new films enter the marketplace this weekend and each will try to win your box office dollars. Matt Damon teams up with director Paul Greengrass for the third time with political action thriller Green Zone which looks to have the most box office potential out of the crop of new films this weekend. Sidekick Jay Baruschel will attempt to step in leading man shoes with raunchy romantic comedy She’s Out of My League. Robert Pattinson will hope to bring his Twilight fans to his new romantic tearjerker Remember Me while Forest Whitaker and friends will attempt to invite the urban crowd to Our Family Wedding. None of these films will even come close to knocking Alice in Wonderland off its throne. Take a look.

Movie goers spent the weekend in wonderland with Johnny Depp as Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland opened to huge numbers. Wonderland took in almost double the amount of the nine other films in the top 10 combined. Brooklyn’s Finest also had a solid debut coming in second for the weekend. Take a look.

BOX OFFICE PREDICTIONS FOR THE WEEKEND OF MARCH 5-7

This weekend Tim Burton’s hugely anticipated Alice in Wonderland opens to what I’m sure will be spectacular numbers.  The only other film brave enough to open against it is director Antoine Fuqua’s ensemble cop drama, Brooklyn’s Finest.  Will audiences go mad as a hatter for Alice?  Let’s take a look.
