Last week's episode of Lost opened a whole lot of questions about the Oceanic Six and Mr. Benjamin Linus and I wanted the chance to offer up some theories before tonight's episode, which is mere hours away. Let's take a look at the characters one by one.
First up, Kate. The big questions for her character now are what made her change her mind about going back to the island and what did she do with Aaron? My guess is that Kate changed her mind for two reasons; one is that she truly believes the people she left behind on the island are in trouble and she can't handle the guilt that comes with not helping them, especially Sawyer. The second reason is that I think she was probably visited by a ghostly version of Claire (like in last season's finale) that warned her not to take Aaron back with her. So what did she do with Aaron? Simple.... she gave him to Claire's mother, whom we already know from a prior episode is in L.A.
Let's take a look at Ben. When he gets on the flight he is visibly beaten up and bruised all over. What happened to him? When he left Jack he said he had a promise to keep to an old friend. The old friend is Charles Widmore and the promise is that he would kill his daughter Penny in retribution for his own daughters (albeit kidnapped) death at the hands of Widmore's men. Upon seeing Desmond in L.A., Ben knew that Penny would be close by and this presented him with the perfect opportunity to live up to his word (threat) to Widmore. Based on the way Ben looks after that encounter, my guess is that he didn't succeed. I'm sure that Desmond caught him in the act and proceeded to beat the living snot out of him. One could argue that Ben did kill Penny and then Desmond beat him up, but that would make no sense. If Ben did succeed in killing Penny, Desmond wouldn't have stopped at a beating, he would've killed Ben.
Then there is Jack. There aren't too many questions about Jack, but there are questions that revolve around him. We all know that in tonight's episode, Locke will be resurrected. The question is how Jack will react to this miracle? It also makes me think that perhaps Jack's dad, Christian was resurrected by the island as well and is in fact alive. Could it be that Christian had to sacrifice his own life to get Jack to the island the first time? It's the same thing Locke had to do in order to get Jack on the island the second time. It seems like a fit to me.
As for the remaining characters Hurley, Sayid and Sun, I have plenty of questions but not too many theories. I'd like to know how Hurley got out of jail. My only guess is that master manipulator Ben had something to do with it. Even still, how did Hurley know what flight to get on. My guess is that he was visited by a ghost once again, probably Charlie, and he told him the flight to get on? How did Sayid get arrested and wind up on the same plane? As always, I'm sure Ben was involved in some way. He probably made a call and had him arrested. As for how he wound up on the same flight, we'll chalk that up to the power of the island. This leaves us with Sun. Sun is only motivated to go back to find her long thought dead husband, Jin. The only question I have is how she plans to get off the island again and get back to her child. That's about it for now, I'm sure I'll have more for you after tonight's episode. Enjoy!

Re: Theories About the Oceanic 6
What do you think about this- what if Ben Killed Penny, then he and Desmond duke it out, somehow Ben gets a lucky shot in and knocks Desmond out (cause let's face it, Desmond would destroy Ben, so it would have to be a lucky shot). Ben gets away with his scraps and bruises, leaving Penny dead and Desmond unconscious (I haven't figured out where their son Charlie fits in yet). Desmond wakes up to find Penny dead... Put that aside for a second and remember when Ms.Hawking told Desmond that the Island wasn't finished with him yet, when they were in the Lamppost? And remember when Penny asked Desmond to never go back to the Island; and he looks at her as if she's like totally daft and asks why would he ever go back? Well, here's the big finish...wouldn't this be a clever little way for them to have Desmond go back to the Island? I mean, since he would never go back there now that he has Penny (and their child), now that Penny is gone, and Ben did it, he has to avenge Penny's death by killing Ben and in order to get Ben he has to return to the Island, which we know isn't finished with him yet- whoooooouuuu. So as much as I hate the thought of Desmond and Penny's story to be more of a tragedy than a fairy tale, I think it's going to happen.
Moving on- Some random thoughts, ongoing questions, and whatnot:
1. Where the hell is Claire? What are we like 7, 8 episodes into the season and still no explanation of why she was just like chillin' in Jacob's cabin with Christian, like everything was normal and ok, and like she didn't just ditch her baby in the woods? What is this, Lost's version of postpartum depression?
2. Rousseau- oy vey, where do I begin with this mishegaas? If the producers of the show think they've satisfied our curiousity of Rousseau's past, with that glimpse of her team and their arrival to the Island, they are sadly mistaken. I mean, did anyone really care about how Montand lost his arm? Or even anything about Montand for that matter? or her science team?- seriously, who cares? I'm not even that curious about how The Others took Alex from her- the chick was 7 months pregnant on a science expedition out in the ocean, in the middle of nowhere- who does that? The Others did that kid a favor by taking Alex away from her. I think The Others should pay a visit to that crazy octuplet mom and take her kids away too- her house is like a science expedition. And so is her face, LOL. Anyway, more importantly is the fact that she was on the Island for 16 years and had told Sayid (I think) that she never saw anyone else, when they first arrived at the Flame station she said she never saw it- you mean to tell me that this chick has been on this Island for 16 years and she never saw a big blue barn with cows and chickens and horses? But at the same time she had maps of the entire Island? And if she arrived on the Island in 1988, how did she survive the Purge in 1992, where Ben and The Hostiles used the gas from the Tempest station to kill everyone on the Island? Think maybe she had something to do with it? Maybe she helped Ben and then he took Alex or something? Cause it's also strange that Rousseau named the baby Alex and Ben raised her with the name Alex- how did he even know that was the baby's name? and why wouldn't he change it? it seems strange to take a baby from someone, (yes, i realize the thought should end there, but this is Lost we're talking about here), and then raise it with the name they were given. This makes me think that Alex was older when she was taken and already knew her own name. Even the way Ben and Rousseau reacted to one another, at what we know of as their first encounter, in the end of season 3, when Ben tells Alex that Rousseau is her mother. I don't know about you but if someone took my child away from me 16 years ago, I'm pretty sure my reaction would have something to do with causing them serious amounts of pain leading to their death- and from what we've seen from Rousseau, I'm pretty sure she'd be capable of doing that.
3.And finally, an issue that I feel very strongly about. So much so that I'll even go as far as to say that it's the biggest mystery of Lost ...It's a little something I like to call "Hot Guys without a Shirt on." We've seen Sawyer topless. We get it. Sawyers hot. I'm not complaining. In fact I would have no objections to more scenes displaying Sawyer's pecks. But what about some of the other guys- Sayid, Jin? Normally not my type, but honestly, what girl doesn't have a little something for a guy who can be calm and cool and mysterious, and also kick some serious ass for her? So i ask, what would be the harm- next time Sayid is fixing some sort of gadget, does he really need his shirt on? And we can't understand anything Jin says- so why not just have him take his shirt off while he's talking? Makes sense to me.
Your thoughts?......

I wouldn't mind seeing Kate walking around without her shirt on!
