Can you feel it? There is a tingle in the air. A feeling of electricity. The television landscape is about to change for the infinitely better. That’s right… the season 5 premier of Lost is tonight! I couldn’t be more excited. Lost is the best television series in history, but it is more than that. It is an epic story that transcends all mediums. This is the best ride I’ve ever been on. I’m more excited than Homer Simpson in a donut factory. More excited than Ryan Seacrest in front of his mirror. More excited than David Duchovny at a whore house. Well… maybe not the last one… but still, I’m extremely excited.

I just finished re-watching season 4 last night (I timed it out perfectly) and even knowing what is going to happen, the show is endlessly entertaining. After watching the season again, I can say with the utmost certainty that Jin is not dead (we’ll have to wait for the January 28^th episode to know for sure). The freighter folk have a past relationship with the island that has yet to be revealed (stay tuned). From what I understand the premier is going to pick up where last season’s finale left off and we are going to get answers to a boat load of questions. We are going to find out what the island actually is and where (when) it disappeared to. We are going to find out more about the freighter folks; Faraday, Charlotte and Miles. Apparently the work of Faraday is going to come into major focus this season. We are going to find out about the earlier inhabitants of the island and get more back story about Richard Alpert and the others. We will find out how Locke died and why he needs the Oceanic Six to go back and what has transpired on the island since they’ve been gone. All these answers and more! I wouldn’t get too excited about all these forthcoming answers though. Remember, this is Lost. With every answer we get, five more questions are raised.

All I know for sure is that at 9:30 tonight (I start it a half hour late on my Tivo to avoid commercials) I will be on my couch watching with a huge grin on my face.
