BOX OFFICE PREDICTIONS FOR THE WEEKEND OF JUNE 25-27
Last weekend, Toy Story 3 put the summer box office back on track, but will this weekend’s new films be able to keep things going in the right direction? Probably not. First up is Knight and Day, an action comedy starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz which actually opened on Wednesday. The only other film opening this weekend is the latest comedy from Adam Sandler, Grown Ups. How will they perform? Take a look.

BOX OFFICE PREDICTIONS FOR THE WEEKEND OF JUNE 18-20
Last weekend the summer movie season was finally kicked in the right direction by the remake of The Karate Kid, the first film all summer to exceed expectations and be labeled a bona-fide hit. The film proved that audiences aren’t sick of reboots and remakes as long as they are done well and this weekend, highly anticipated sequel, Toy Story 3 will prove that there is still plenty of audience demand for sequel properties as well. The threequel is bound to perform really well, but just how much will it actually make? Take a look.

BOX OFFICE PREDICTIONS FOR THE WEEKEND OF JUNE 11-13
Hollywood is dusting off some relics from the 80’s this weekend in hopes that the future of the summer box office season will be saved by the past. Based on the hit television show, The A-Team blasts its way into theatres along with a remake of The Karate Kid from 1984. If these films don’t excite you, you can always kick back this weekend with a Jolt cola and play some Pac Man while listening to the soundtrack for Purple Rain.

BOX OFFICE RESULTS FOR THE WEEKEND OF JUNE 4-6
Despite four new releases this weekend, this continued to be a bummer of a summer at the box office. While Get Him to the Greek and Killers performed okay, Marmaduke and Splice were outright box office dogs. The quartet of under performers made it possible for Shrek Forever After to be the #1 film for the third weekend in a row. Things might start to heat up next weekend with the releases of The A-Team and The Karate Kid and the following weekend, Woody and Buzz are back in Toy Story 3, which is guaranteed to be a huge hit.

BOX OFFICE PREDICTIONS FOR THE WEEKEND OF JUNE 4-6
The summer box office season has been off to a shaky start with Iron Man, Shrek and Carrie Bradshaw performing below expectations but with this weekend’s four new releases… who am I kidding? This weekend is going to be another bust. Not one of the new releases has any break out potential. Get Him to the Greek and Killers will be mid-range hits, Marmaduke will do just okay and Splice will be an outright bomb. Take a look.

BOX OFFICE PREDICTIONS FOR THE WEEKEND OF MAY 28-30
Traditionally, Memorial Day weekend is one of the biggest box office weekends of the year and there are two major releases contending for your dollars.  Sex and the City 2 which is actually opening today and Disney hopes to launch a new franchise with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. There are also some holdovers that should still perform well this weekend; look for Shrek Forever After to have a good hold over the 4 day frame and Iron Man 2 and Robin Hood should round out the top 5. Take a look.

BOX OFFICE RESULTS FOR THE WEEKEND OF MAY 21-23
It’s a good thing that Shrek Forever After is the last film in the series because it didn’t even come close to matching the opening of its predecessors signaling that audiences are tired of the character. Shrek 4 will still attain box office heights that will make most other films green with envy, but for the series it will be viewed as a box office disappointment. The only other wide release of the weekend, MacGruber inspired by the SNL skit of the same name, proved to be yet another box office dud for the venerable sketch show. Take a look.

BOX OFFICE PREDICTIONS FOR THE WEEKEND OF MAY 21-23
This weekend two new releases hit multiplexes; the fourth and final (?) chapter of the most successful animated franchise of all time, Shrek Forever After and Will Forte stars in MacGruber based on the SNL sketch. Shrek will clearly have an ogre-sized opening weekend, but how big is big? Will Shrek 4 be able to live up to the gigantic opening weekends of parts 2 and 3? Take a look.

BOX OFFICE RESULTS FOR THE WEEKEND OF MAY 14-16
Tony Stark fended off Robin Hood as Iron Man 2 remained the #1 movie at the box office this weekend. The Armored Avenger has spent the first two weeks of the summer movie season on top but will be smacked down by big, green ogre, Shrek next weekend. Robin Hood opened in second place and is off to a decent if not solid start. Letters to Juliet and Just Wright both did moderately well, coming in at third and fourth respectively.

BOX OFFICE PREDICTIONS FOR THE WEEKEND OF MAY 14-16
After a tremendous start to the summer season with Iron Man 2, things slow down considerably this weekend with three new releases that don’t really have much in the way of box office potential. Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe team up once again to bring us yet another version of Robin Hood. Amanda Seyfried and Vanessa Redgrave take a road trip through Italy in Letters to Juliet and Queen Latifah falls in love with Common in sports themed romantic comedy, Just Wright. Will Robin Hood be able to take on Iron Man? It’s not very likely. I’m fairly sure that Tny Stark's armor is arrow-proof.
