The Dark Knight was finally knocked from the top spot this weekend after 4 weeks as the #1 movie in America. After 5 weeks, the new Batman flick now sits at #2 on the all time domestic blockbusters list, with a total cume of $471M. Newcomer, Tropic Thunder took the #1 spot this weekend with a healthy take of $25.8M and a 5 day total of $36.8M. Newcomer, Tropic Thunder took the #1 spot this weekend with a healthy take of $25.8M and a 5 day total of $36.8M. Star Wars: The Clone Wars opened with a disappointing $14.6M, way below my forecast of $24M. I think my prediction for Star Wars was more wishful thinking than anything, but still, I don't understand where the Star Wars fan base was? How come they didn't come out in droves for this? I guess I'll never know. Opening below the top 10, Fly Me to the Moon opened with $1.9M (I predicted $2M) and Henry Poole is Here opened as predicted, with slightly less than $1M.
