The Ben Stiller action/comedy Tropic Thunder just barely held on to the top spot this weekend with the House Bunny packing some serious heat. Thunder grossed $16M bringing its total to $65M with The House Bunny hot on its heels with a much better than expected $15M. Thunder grossed $16M bringing its total to $65M with The House Bunny hot on its heels with a much better than expected $15M. Death Race, the Jason Statham action flick opened as predicted, with $12M. Rainn Wilson’s comedy The Rocker failed to rock audiences this weekend grossing an abysmal $2.7M with a 5 day take of $3.8M. Opening in just 103 theatres this weekend, the Sundance fave, Hamlet 2, grossed $435,000, right in line with my $500,000 forecast.
