BOX OFFICE RESULTS FOR THE WEEKEND OF AUGUST 28-30
The battle of the horror films came to an end with The Final Destination soundly beating Halloween 2 by a great deal. Destination had more expensive 3-D tickets in its favor and a slightly bigger theatre count as well. Inglorious Basterds proved it had legs, defying most industry expectations and it turns out that not many people were feeling nostalgic as Taking Woodstock opened weakly in 9th place.
I’m on vacation this week so I’m going to skip the normal banter and just show you the results. Make sure to come back Thursday for this weekend’s predictions for Sandra Bullock’s latest, All About Steve , action flick, Gamer and Extract, a new comedy starring Jason Bateman.
