How To Enable Cookies

The following instructions explain how to enable cookies for the web browser you are currently using. If the test to the left (in the Browser Test box) still does not show that you have cookies enabled after completing the steps below, you may have Internet security software that is preventing your cookies from working. Follow the directions below and then refresh this page to test if you set your browser correctly Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0+

  • On the "Tools" menu, select "Internet Options".
  • Then select the "Privacy" tab.
  • Click the "Default" button.
  • Click the "OK" button.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x
  • On the "Tools" menu, select "Internet Options".
  • Select the "Security" tab.
  • Click the "Custom Level" button.
  • Scroll down to the "Cookies" section.
  • Set "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer" to "Enable".
  • Set "Allow per-session cookies" to "Enable".
  • Click the "OK" button.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x
  • On the "View" menu, select "Internet Options".
  • Select the "Advanced" tab.
  • Scroll down to "Cookies" in the "Security" section.
  • Select "Always accept cookies".
  • Click the "OK" button.
Mozilla Firefox 1.0+
  • On the "Tools" menu, select "Options".
  • Select the "Privacy" icon from the left panel.
  • Under the "Cookies" submenu, check the box corresponding to "Allow sites to set cookies".
  • Click the "OK" button.
Mozilla 5.0/Netscape 7.1
  • On the "Edit" menu, select "Preferences".
  • Click on the arrow next to "Privacy & Security" in the scrolling window.
  • Under "Privacy & Security", select "Cookies".
  • Select "Enable all cookies".
  • Click the "OK" button.
Netscape 4.x
  • On the "Edit" menu, select "Preferences".
  • Under the "Cookies" section in the "Advanced" category, select "Accept all cookies".
  • Click the "OK" button.
AOL 9.0
  • From the AOL Toolbar, select Settings.
  • Select Internet [Web] Options
  • Select Use your Internet Explorer Settings to set advanced browser options.
  • Select the Privacy tab
  • Select Advanced
  • Deselect override automatic cookie handling button
  • Click OK to exit.
AOL 8.0
  • From the AOL Toolbar, select Settings.
  • Select Preferences
  • Select Internet Properties (WWW)
  • Select the Privacy tab
  • Select Advanced
  • Deselect override automatic cookie handling button
  • Click OK to exit.
AOL 7.0 and Lower
  • Use the methods above for the IE version you have.
