FilmGo's REEL Reviews for Real People primarily focuses on current theatrical releases.

Harper’s Island is a new mystery event on CBS that airs on Thursdays at 10 pm EST and after watching the first episode, I was genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

Life on Mars, the best new series this season (in my opinion), came to an extremely satisfying close with last night’s series finale. When I learned of the show’s cancelation a few weeks ago, I was disappointed but not surprised. The show had failed to capitalize on its Grey’s Anatomy lead in earlier this fall (Eli Stone should have had that timeslot) and ABC paired it with Lost over the winter in an effort to goose the ratings. Pairing it with Lost was a great idea and it shows that ABC did whatever they could to make the series a hit, but unfortunately it failed. I guess it was due to the serialized nature of the show. People who had missed the first half of the season must have felt that it was a too dense a narrative to just jump in to. This is a real shame for 2 reasons. One...

I’ve been watching Heroes since the very first episode and both Anders and I have expressed our feelings about this series on many occasions. I felt like this once promising series had lost its way and would probably never find its way back. That is until last night’s episode “Cold Snap” aired. This episode was filled to the brim with all the elements that made the show so fun to watch in the first season. We saw characters die, discover powers and even learned the identity of the mysterious Rebel who has been helping the heroes throughout the Fugitives story arc.

Volume 4: Fugitives has been extremely uneven up until last night, with a crappy episode to match every good one. We the viewers have been subjected to plots that seem to meander forever and character motivations that really seem to...

Howdy FILMGOAPHYTES! It's been a while, but Anders has returned to the place that started his writing career (not sure if that's a good thing or not). I like to write something for FILMGO every now and again to express my love and gratitude. Today's topic HEROES. The NBC television program that coined the phrase “Save the cheerleader, save the world". It airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on NBC.

I have been following this show before it even aired back in the fall of 2006. I had heard earlier that year that NBC was going to add a program to its stable that would follow a group of people who were discovering they had amazing abilities. It was right in my wheelhouse and I counted down the days until the pilot premiered. I was not disappointed. It was everything I had hoped it would be....

Let me start by saying that after seeing Watchmen, I understand why the reviews were so polarizing. I understand how someone could watch it and hate it. I also understand why someone could love it. I myself fall into the latter category. I freaking loved it! It was one of the best (if not the best) cinematic experiences of my life. Words and star ratings can’t truly describe what a masterpiece this film is, but I’m going to try. Using the traditional four star rating system, I give Watchmen five stars. Yes my friends… it is that good.

Visually the film is astonishing. There is not one frame of the movie that fails to draw the eye. The special effects were spectacular. Every angle that director, Zack Snyder (my new god) employs is both breath taking and original, from the spectacularly...

I love Monday night TV. It is incredible the amount of awesome shows on that night. We have House and 24 on FOX, Chuck and Heroes on NBC and a great comedy block on CBS. I know this is old news, but I wanted to give it a few weeks before I wrote about it. I wanted to see which of these shows I still managed to watch on a consistent basis and which ones would wind up collecting dust on my Tivo. The crazy thing is that I’ve managed to keep up with every one of them and still watch them on the night that they actually air. Of course this would explain why I didn’t wake up until noon today. Oh the sacrifices we make to entertain ourselves.

Last week's episode of Lost opened a whole lot of questions about the Oceanic Six and Mr. Benjamin Linus and I wanted the chance to offer up some theories before tonight's episode, which is mere hours away.  Let's take a look at the characters one by one.

First up, Kate.  The big questions for her character now are what made her change her mind about going back to the island and what did she do with Aaron?  My guess is that Kate changed her mind for two reasons; one is that she truly believes the people she left behind on the island are in trouble and she can't handle the guilt that comes with not helping them, especially Sawyer.  The second reason is that I think she was probably visited by a ghostly version of Claire (like in last season's finale) that warned her not to take Aaron back with her.  So what did she do with Aaron?  Simple.... she gave him to Claire's mother, whom we already know from a prior episode is in L.A.

Hello FILMGO lovers! Its Anders here, Bill himself has requested that I write another blog (I am a little worried about his mental state) so I have decided to oblige. I guess I must be doing a good job (first time for everything) because they keep asking me back (desperation is soooo sad). Today, I would like to share something that I have been really enjoying.

Ok, we've established that I am a superhero, comic book, Star Wars fan. I want to make all of you aware of (if you haven't discovered it on your own already), a little cartoon series called Star Wars: Clone Wars.

The show basically picks up where the animated Clone Wars movie (which I really enjoyed), left off. It takes place between Episodes II and III, and really gives you a taste of what happened between. Anakin...

It’s become sort of a tradition of mine to predict who will win American Idol every year based on the audition rounds alone. I’ve had a pretty impressive track record so far. Here is a list of my picks from prior seasons with the exception of season 1. I didn’t start watching season 1 until the top 10 and at that point, it didn’t take a genius to realize Kelly Clarkson was going to win. That being said, my picks in past seasons were:
