Michael Jackson’s This Is It is a tough film to review. Culled from rehearsal footage for his planned 50 shows at the 02 Arena in London, This Is It isn’t really a concert film nor is it a documentary offering an intimate look into the enigmatic entertainer. It’s more like an intimate peep. Nonetheless, watching Jackson prepare for what was sure to be an amazing concert is quite magical.

Famous film critic Roger Ebert wrote an amazing article about the rise of 3-D films at multiplexes and has come up with quite a few points that are nearly impossible to argue with.  Of course, I happen to agree with everything he is saying and truly believe he is 100% correct.  Anyway it is a great article and I think you should check it out.  I've copied the article for your reading enjoyment.

Thanksgiving has come early for Warner Bros. as Where the Wild Things Are is one big, fat turkey. A movie for grownups masquerading as a kids flick, Wild Things doesn’t succeed on either level and in turn polarizes both of its audiences. Who was this film made for? I’ll answer my own question. Director/writer Spike Jonze has made a self indulgent mess of a movie strictly for himself.

When watching a movie like Couples Retreat, it is important to realize you are not viewing high art. This is not a film that will be remembered come awards season. It is not a film that will be remembered as a classic thirty years from now. Couples Retreat is an amiable, breezy relationship comedy that achieves quite a few big laughs and even tugs on the heart along the way. The large, talented cast, including Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman and Jon Favreau are all fine actors who excel at ringing laughs out of every situation their characters are thrown in to.

What can I say? Zombieland is the perfect zombie movie.  A potent mix of horror, gore, action, comedy and buddy movies, the film works on all levels and is seriously the most fun you can possibly have at the movies. It made me jump, made me laugh and also made me genuinely care about the characters. The film is a visually arresting, highly stylized treat that entertains all the way through and will leave you wanting more.
